four ways to move: designs by joey ruiter
June – August, 2012

In the exhibition four ways to move, designer Joey Ruiter challenges us to consider the concept of moving – how we move ourselves physically from point A to point B, and how we move from the idea of a familiar transport vehicle to its deconstructed essence.

Ruiter excels in creating innovative objects that meet everyday needs in surprising ways. His transportation designs challenge established expectations, from a motorcycle with no visible mechanical parts, to a powerboat that makes no noise.

The winner of multiple international design awards, Ruiter is lead designer at JRuiter + Studio in Grand Rapids.
