23rd Annual Junior Achievment Bowling Classic 'Be the Star'
Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes Be The Star You Are Bowling Classic
Grand Rapids, Mich. – The 23rd Annual Bowling Classic will be held on October 15, 16 and 17, 2008 at AMF Eastbrook Lanes. This exciting event will involve nearly 100 teams of 5 bowlers from companies and other organizations throughout greater Grand Rapids. The teams have come together for fun and competition and to support the economic education programs of Junior Achievement. The event starts Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 6:00 pm. Among the companies providing several teams and consistent support are: Foremost Insurance, American Seating, Bissell, Fifth Third Bank, Davenport University, Spectrum Health and Bank of America. Each team of 5 is encouraged to raise $100 per bowler to support local Junior Achievement school programming. The event is expected to raise nearly $100,000. During the 2008-2009 school year, Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes expects to serve over 60,000 students in nearly 3,000 classrooms.
