Makers: Women Who Shape America

Building on the extraordinary archive of stories introduced on MAKERS.com, the "MAKERS: Women Who Make America" documentary, premiering on WGVU on February 26 at 8 p.m., will tell the story of the women's movement through the firsthand accounts of the leaders, opponents, and trailblazers who created a new America in the last half-century.

Local MAKERS: WOMEN WHO INSPIRE Event Thursday, February 7

Locally, Women and Girls Lead and WGVU Engage will host a red carpet screening of the upcoming documentary MAKERS, followed by a panel discussion lead by Shelley Irwin, host of the WGVU Morning Show.

The West Michigan MAKERS: WOMEN WHO INSPIRE event will begin at 6pm at Celebration! Cinema North.  22 local women have been nominated as Local MAKERS and four will participate on the panel.  The panelists include:  Avery McNew, Nicki Hurley, Synia Jordan, Dr. Patricia Quattrin.  Eva McCall Hamilton (deceased) will have special recognition for her historic accomplishments.
