Come join the 2012-13 season Grand Rapids Griffins players and coaches at the 5th Annual Pups and Pucks Fall Walk-a-thon, benefiting our furry friends at Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary!
Visit https://www.firstgiving.com/mackenzies/pupsandpucks2012 to donate or for more information.
At the walk-a-thon, you and your family (and your four-legged friends) can join the team by participating in our walk and collecting pledges. After the walk, enjoy some of the many family-friendly activities including: Hay Ride
s, Petting Zoo, Arts and Crafts, a Pet-friendly Marketplace, Best Dressed Dog Contests, and so much more!
Our goal at this year's walk-a-thon is to raise awareness for abused, abandoned and neglected dogs in and to also raise $50,000 for medical equipment at Mackenzie's new on-site veterinary clinic. The new clinic will function to better serve the dog population in a timely and more cost effective manner. Having their own clinic now enables them to provide spay/neuters, dentals, x-rays, and routine vaccinations and exams. Thus furthering their mission of providing the highest standards of care for their animals, including veterinary care! Mackenzie's has received a $25,000 matching donor. For every $1 donated, the donor will match that up to $25,000.
Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary is the largest no-kill Sanctuary in the Midwest. Mackenzie's Mission is to provide and find loving homes for abused, abandoned and neglected dogs; spay/neuter rescued dogs to stop the cycle of unwanted litters; assist in public education for the betterment of our local animal community and to maintain the highest standards of care for the animals, including veterinary care.
