Ionia Autumn Celebration
The smell of fresh, homemade chili will be engulfing downtown Ionia once again, as the Autumn Celebration comes into town.
The week leading up to the event features Scare Crow Alley with dozens of frightening and creative creations lining lampposts on Main St.
The celebration covers Ionia's Main Street district from the Armory to the Ionia Theatre. All proceeds from the event will benefit Big Brother, Big Sisters.
This is the fall event that Ionians and visitors alike try not to miss – bringing nearly 6000 people to Main Street in a four hour time slot. There is so much to participate in and see that it is a challenge within itself for anyone to do it all!
The celebration will have the classics for everyone's enjoyment, which will include the famous Independent Bank Chili-Dawg Challenge, the Chili-dog eating contest, the Meijer Costume Contest, Main Street Trick-or-Treat and Resurrection Life Church's Carnival and Conquerors.
