Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company to Present Antony and Cleopatra at Dog Story Theater

 

The Grand-Haven based Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company will present Antony and Cleopatra at the Dog Story Theater, 7 Jefferson SE in Grand Rapids, August 9-12 and 16-19.  Performances are Thursday-Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 3:00 p.m..

 

Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra presents the volatile relationship of the famous historical lovers against the backdrop of the political intrigue of the Roman Empire, with Marc Antony torn between his love for the Egyptian queen Cleopatra and his duty to Rome.

 

Actors' Equity Association member Paul Riopelle joins the cast as Marc Antony, with Pigeon Creek repertory company member Heather Hartnett as Cleopatra.  The cast also includes actors Chaz Bratton, Matt Fowler.  Scott Lange, Claire Mahave, Bridget McCarthy, Owen McIntee, Mychael Overton, Janna Rosenkranz, and Joseph Valente.  Pigeon Creek Executive Director Katherine Mayberry directs the production.

 

Pigeon Creek's performance style is lively and audience interactive, featuring live music performed before the show and at intermission.  Tickets to the Dog Story performances are $12 for adults, and $6 for students and seniors.  Thursday evening performances are pay-what-you-will admission.  For ticket reservations, visit www.dogstorytheater.com.
