Splash Pads at Grand Rapids City Parks Open
Starting today the water playgrounds at Heartside Park, Joe Taylor Park, Mary Waters Park, Alger Middle School, and Gerald R. Ford Middle School will be open for the summer! Fun and safe for all ages, these water playgrounds feature spouts, sprinklers and other fun features. Running around at the water playground can be a great activity for a healthy lifestyle and is an excellent opportunity for family-friendly entertainment. In addition, the water playgrounds are free!
The water playgrounds at Heartside Park, Joe Taylor Park, Mary Waters Park, Alger Middle School, and Gerald R. Ford Middle School will be open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM from now through Labor Day. The water playgrounds are self-activated by pressing a bollard at the site.
The water playgrounds at Aberdeen Park and Mulick Park will be open from July 1 through August 18 from 1:00-5:00 PM. Outdoor swimming pools at Richmond, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Briggs Park will also be open from July 2 through August 17. Open swim hours at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 12:30-7:00 PM, Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30-5:00 PM. Open swim hours at Briggs Park are Monday through Wednesday from 12:30-5:00 PM and Thursday through Saturday from 12:30-7:00 PM. Open swim hours at Richmond Park are Monday from 12:30-5:00 PM and Tuesday through Saturday from 12:30-7:00 PM.
Open swim fees for Grand Rapids residents are $1.00 per youth (ages 1-17) and $2.00 per adult. Open swim fee for non-residents is $4.00 per person. To save on open swim admission, a punchcard is available for both residents and non-residents and a family pass is available for Grand Rapids residents.
