The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is offering eight (8) dates this summer to cool off for free with outdoor, family-friendly activities.

The Kroc Center will host Family Movie Nights on four (4) dates throughout the summer. These free events will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will feature a  giant outdoor slip and slide, entertainment, and a family movie.  Family Movie Nights will be held on Friday, June 29 (Dolphin Tale), Friday, July 20 (Cars 2), and Friday, August 24 (The Lorax), and on Tuesday, August 7 (The Muppets) as part of National Night Out. Additionally, on select Saturdays from 1 – 4 p.m., kids and adults can experience the Kroc Center's giant outdoor slip & slide. All ages are welcome. The Kroc concession stand will be open during these events, as well. Dates for the Slip & Slide Saturdays are June 23, July 7, July 21, and August 8.

"Our goal is to keep families, especially children, cool and active this summer in a safe and fun environment," said Major Marc Johnson, senior officer for The Salvation Army Kroc Center.  "We're excited to be able to offer free events to our community."

The Kroc Center is a 105,000-square-foot facility that sits on a 20-acre campus and was created to be an affordable community center encompassing a holistic approach to recreation, worship, arts and education for everyone in the community.

In addition to bilingual worship services on Sundays at 10 a.m., the Kroc Center offers health and wellness programs, cardiovascular machines, strength training machines, free weights, an indoor track, aerobic classes, personal training, rowing machines and more. Recreation activities include basketball, judo, volleyball, badminton, pickleball, a family game room with video games and computers, toddler tumbling, rock climbing, and free Wi-Fi internet access.
