Miranda Lambert at Rock the Rapids
July 31, 2012 update: Rock The Rapids, presented by Miller Brewing, Grand Rapids' Original Music Festival, will be more than a weeklong lineup of the nation's best concerts, it will also feature a collection of rides and entertainment that includes an 80-foot Ferris Wheel, a rock climbing wall, snake charmer, sword swallower, contortionist, ice carving, face painting and a wrestling match between a man and an 8-foot, 400 pound alligator named Chub.
"We are excited that we can bring a diverse lineup of music and entertainment to downtown Grand Rapids," said Denny Baxter, founder of Rock the Rapids. "This is just a great opportunity to showcase downtown Grand Rapids and open the streets to every kind of music, entertainment, food and fun imaginable."

Thursday, August 23 _ Carnival of Madness featuring Evanescence, Chevelle, Halestorm and New Medicine
Friday, August 24 _ Boyz II Men and Bell Biv DeVoe
Saturday, August 25 _ Big Boi of OutKast and B.o.B
Tickets, which are available at the Rock the Rapids box office at Peppino's in downtown Grand Rapids or at rocktherapids.org, include various single-day, two-day and a weeklong pass for only $109.
