Street Party Outside Van Andel Arena Will Rev Up Crowd For Cheap Trick

Food, Music, Games and Giveaways Will Get the Party Started

Grand Rapids, MI. – For those who found it quite easy to get pumped about seeing pop-rockers Cheap Trick headline a tour date at Van Andel Arena with local bands, The Verve Pipe and Mid-Life Crisis, Van Andel Arena is giving yet another reason to get excited for June 24th. A street party will begin the festivities beginning at 4pm outside the arena on Ottawa Avenue, full of entertainment to get the crowd geared up for the show.

Any and everyone is invited to stop by the street party, where attendees can listen to Michigan-based music before they even enter the arena by local fan favorite, Outer Vibe. Savor…Grand Rapids, Van Andel Arena's food and beverage provider, will be on hand to bring out the grill and drinks. Since the bands will roll back the clock for each attendee, we're even rolling back the prices on concessions at both the party and for the duration of the concert.

A host of other activities and giveaways will be taking place as well. Beyond the music, dancing and other numerous activities, there'll also be a number of games where people can win a ton of prizes.

The street party begins at 4pm and runs to approximately 6:15, after doors for the show have opened. Joining Cheap Trick will be Michigan-natives The Verve Pipe and Mid-Life Crisis. The Verve Pipe are known for their commercial hit, "The Freshmen" which peaked at No. 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1997.  West Michigan-based Mid-Life Crisis has created a great local following, delighting crowds for over 10 years at festivals and other live concerts.
