A songwriter whose music splits the difference between pop/rock and folksy American, Brandi Carlile is known for her 2007 song, "The Story. " Carlile was named by Rolling Stone as one of "10 Artists to Watch in 2005" and three songs from her album were featured on ABC's hit drama Grey's Anatomy.
In 2010, she made a well-received stop at the annual Bonnaroo Festival that summer and collaborated with the Seattle Symphony during two shows in November. She has toured as a headliner and supporting act with performers including Ray LaMontagne, Hanson, Indigo Girls, The Fray and Tori Amos. Her latest and fifth album, Bear Creek, was released earlier last month and bandmates include guitarist Tim Hanseroth and his twin brother, bassist Phil Hanseroth.
