Cut the Cancer: Rehabilitating Cancer through the study of Aikido

Gilda's Club Grand Rapids presents...

Aikido is a Japanese martial art that is defined as "the way of harmonizing energy". The study of Aikido teaches one to develop an awareness of the unity of mind and body to help facilitate our application into our daily stresses with "living calmness". Students take part in low impact physical and mental exercises designed to strengthen the body and sharpen the mind through the study of the wooden sword (bokken), breathing exercises, and meditation.

This is a free workshop designed for cancer survivors and the friends and family of those currently on a cancer journey. Please register for this workshop in advance by calling Gilda's Club Grand Rapids at (616) 453-8300 or emailing register@gildasclubgr.org.
