Love's Labour's Lost is a witty comedy in which the King of Navarre and the lords in his court take a vow to study for three years and not to see any women during that time. Their vow is immediately threatened by a visit from the Princess of France and her ladies in waiting, who come to Navarre on an embassy from the French king. The court of Navarre becomes the backdrop for disguise, romantic intrigue, and a play-within-a-play as the King and his lords attempt to woo the ladies of France.
