Stargazing at the Veen Observatory

"Come out and See the Wonders of the Universe"

No plans this Saturday evening? Why not come out and experience the awesome wonders of the Universe at the Veen Observatory!

The James C. Veen Observatory will be open to the public, but ONLY IF THE SKIES ARE CLEAR.

Please call the Starwatch number -- 897-7065 -- for updates and the status of the night if the weather conditions are questionable. Updates will also be available on the website - http://www.graaa.org and on our Twitter feed - http://twitter.com/GR_Astronomy.

Some of the objects visible through the telescopes will be the planet Saturn, and Deep Sky wonders such as nebulas, star clusters, and galaxies.

Along with the observatory telescopes, association members set up their own telescopes so that visitors can view the splendors of the night sky. There will also be constellation tours available. Visitors can tour the facility and enjoy an audio-visual presentation about the astronomy club and the James C. Veen Observatory.

Admission for public nights are $3 for Adults, $2 for 17 years and younger, and free for children under 5 years of age.

Parking is on the lower level. There is a uphill walk to the observatory proper.
