The tryouts for the United states team going to the World Pastry cup competition is going to be held at GRCC this year. Kerry Vincent, who is one of the stars of the "Food Network Challenge" will be here judging it as well as Ewald Notter who is also frequently featured on the Food Network and myself. If your interested it's open to the public.

Here is a schedule of the competition.

Saturday April 21st:
7;00 a.m. Ewald Notter blows the whistle the second part of the competition starts.

Ice carving can be started anytime. Participants will have three hours to complete their pieces which must be finished by 12:00 noon and which will assembled at 6:30 pm. for final judging.
10:30 a.m. tasting of the cakes, then plated desserts and finally frozen dessert starts and finishes at 2;00 p.m.

Public welcome from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m then moved to the Atrium where they will be able to come and see the centerpieces until 5:00 p.m.

3:00 p.m. Competition is over the displays are presented to the jury.

6:30 p.m. reception followed by the award ceremony at 7:30 p.m
