West Michigan Regional (Art) Competition
The 26th annual West Michigan Regional (Art) Competition runs from March 20- April 26, 2012. This year, cash prize monies total $2,050 with First Place recipient now receiving $750 versus last year's $500, and all other prizes increasing as well. Gallery hours for the exhibition are Tuesday - Friday from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm and Saturday from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.
This year's juror is Anne Norcross, Assistant Professor and Program Chair of the Art History program at Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University. She is also the Coordinator of the Visual Resource Collection. Ms. Norcross' teaching interests and research is in the history and interpretation of the arts of the United States from the seventeenth through the twentieth centuries, and the history and criticism of modern art and culture.
Artwork displayed is from artists 18 yrs. and older from Oceana, Newaygo, Mecosta, Muskegon, Ottawa, Kent, Montcalm, Ionia, Allegan, Barry, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Berrien, Cass, and Saint Joseph counties.
