Prospecto Adds George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Releases Schedule Details

Grand Rapids, MI - The Prospecto Musical Showcase and Sonic Experience announced that legendary innovator of funk and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic has been added to the showcase line-up. In addition, Prospecto released the dates when headliners will perform, though not yet at which venue. Friday's schedule will feature The Pharcyde, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and Gringo Star; while Saturday will be anchored by George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic, Stardeath and White Dwarfs and Future Islands; and, rounding out the weekend, The Walkmen, Trans Am and Big Freedia will perform on Sunday. A full, detailed schedule will be released on September 1, 2011.

"People have been asking what day certain performers, such as the Pharcyde and The Walkmen, are playing and while the full schedule is not yet available we thought it would be cool to show that each night is going to offer a variety of amazing entertainment," said Benjamin Hunter, Creative Director, Prospecto Group. "The whole weekend is going to be truly unique and exciting experience and I would encourage everyone to see as much as they can."

Prospecto Musical Showcase Returns for 2011, Adds ArtPrize Venue

Grand Rapids, MI - The Prospecto Musical Showcase and Sonic Experience will return to Grand Rapids, MI, September 30 - October 2, 2011. The three day Prospecto Musical Showcase will be held at the city's premier live music venues: The Intersection, Founders Brewery and The Pyramid Scheme. In addition, Prospecto has added an ArtPrize venue, The Intersection presents the Prospecto Sonic Experience, located in the front room of The Intersection.

The Prospecto Sonic Experience will consist of 20 separate ArtPrize entries, each featuring an original, artist submitted visual and audio piece. Selected artists will also be invited to perform at the Prospecto Musical Showcase. Artists who wish to submit a piece to be considered for the Prospecto Sonic Experience ArtPrize venue can do so at www.Sonicbids.com. Now in its third year, ArtPrize is a publicly voted, international art competition held in Grand Rapids, MI from September 21 - October 9, 2011 with prizes totaling $449,000.

"Things are going to be a little different this year," said Benjamin Hunter, Creative Director, Prospecto Group. "First of all, we're very excited to have added a Prospecto curated ArtPrize venue. Basically, the Prospecto Musical Showcase and Prospecto Sonic Experience are two separate events that work in tandem - one lasts three weeks, the other lasts three days. Our goal from the beginning has been to give people the opportunity to discover new music, and featuring 20 artists that people can listen to for the entire three weeks of ArtPrize is really going to help accomplish that."

The three day Prospecto Musical Showcase, originally held the first weekend of ArtPrize, has moved to the second weekend of the three week international art festival. All concerts will take place at The Intersection, Founders Brewery and the newly opened Pyramid Scheme, beginning Friday, September 30 and ending Sunday, October 2, 2011.

"We've moved the showcase back a week to better sync up with ArtPrize's schedule," added Hunter. "And centralizing the concerts to three venues - that are all within a few blocks from one another - makes the event easier to digest and will allow attendees to see more music."
