Margaret Cho at LaughFest
Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 8:00 PM at GRCC Ford Fieldhouse – GO (Grown-ups Only-ages 18+) (DTM – Don’t Tell Mom I Was Here!)
Hailed by the New York Times as “brilliant!” and “murderously funny”, Margaret Cho wows fans with her eccentric series of irreverent and outrageous experiences, and her ‘anything goes’ brand of stand-up. Getting her start at the early age of 16, Arsenio Hall introduced her to late night audiences, Bob Hope put her on a prime time special and, seemingly overnight, Margaret Cho became a national celebrity. She’s starred in television shows including All-American Girl in 1994, her own Vh1 series, The Cho Show, and currently stars on the new comedic drama series, Drop Dead Diva on Lifetime. Margaret’s tours have included Notorious C.H.O, Revolution, State of Emergency, Assassin, Beautiful and her current tour, Cho Dependent. The author of two books including The One That I Want, and I Have Chosen to Stay and Fight, Cho has proved to be a consummate writer and blogger. Deemed an entertainment pioneer, Cho has also been acknowledged for making a significant difference in the promotion of equal rights for all. She was recipient of the Victory Fund’s 2008 Leadership Award and the first ever Best Comedy Performance Award at the 2007 Asian Excellence Awards. She also recently received the First Amendment Award from the ACLU of Southern California, and the Intrepid Award from the National Organization for Women (NOW). She’s a “can’t-miss” act and not easily forgotten by her audiences.
