An afternoon celebrating the diversity of Africa
Presented by the African Community Center of West Michigan
A Refugee operated non-profit organization

Africa is home to a plethora of cultures, races, and traditions. On November 14, 2009, the African Community Center of West Michigan will host an African Culture Celebration at Grand Valley State University's DeVos Campus in the Loosemoore Auditorium. The celebration is a great chance for the community of Grand Rapids to celebrate the diverse and exciting cultures of Africa and an opportunity for our organization to raise the funds necessary to continue our programs that have helped countless individuals in need. This event will contain several speakers, as well as African music, dance, art, an "African Marketplace" and much more. Proceeds will be directed toward educational programs serving the refugees and immigrants of Grand Rapids.

Keynote Speakers Include:

• Dr. Jacques Mangala, Professor of Political Science & African Studies and Director of Grand Valley State University’s African/African American Studies Program, President of the board of directors of Humanity for Africa, presenting “Africa’s Growing Strategic Clout in World Affairs”.
